Founder of Theria
Award-Winning Scottish Entrepreneur
Charlie Greener, born on 14 April 2002, is an award-winning Scottish entrepreneur. Based in Edinburgh, Charlie is the Founder of Theria, a transformational startup in the mobile gaming landscape since its launch in March 2023.
Alongside building Theria, Charlie earned a Master of Arts degree in Economics and Business Management. During his time at university, he received competitive scholarships to study abroad, including a summer program at Victoria University in Canada and advanced data-driven workshops at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and Corvinus University in Budapest.
His academic journey culminated in a dissertation titled "Virtual Connections, Real Transactions: Exploring the Social Dimensions of In-Game Asset Sales in Mobile Gaming," where he combined his expertise in economics and gaming to explore the growing impact of digital marketplaces.
Charlie brings a unique blend of academic excellence, competitive gaming experience, and entrepreneurial expertise to the mobile gaming industry.
As a former semi-professional eSports player, Charlie gained firsthand understanding of the competitive gaming landscape and the challenges players face. This experience provided invaluable insights that directly influenced the development of Theria's platform and features.
His educational background in Economics and Business Management, combined with specialized research in digital marketplaces and in-game economies, positioned him perfectly to identify and address gaps in the mobile gaming market. Charlie's dissertation work exploring the social dimensions of in-game asset sales laid the theoretical foundation for many of Theria's innovative features.
Since founding Theria in 2023, Charlie has established partnerships with some of the world's largest gaming brands and has become a recognised voice in the mobile gaming industry. With experience as a guest lecturer, he speaks regularly at startup events, sharing his journey as a young entrepreneur.
His leadership has been recognised through multiple prestigious awards, including Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2025 at the Scotland Startup Awards, cementing his position as one of Scotland's most promising young business leaders.
Founded in March 2023, Theria is an award-winning startup dedicated to helping mobile gamers achieve their full potential.
Theria is a gaming media and tools platform serving mobile and PC gamers through high-traffic guides, web apps, and community-driven tools. Looking ahead, Charlie is focused on expanding Theria's impact on the mobile gaming ecosystem through innovative new products and services.
Charlie is currently leading the development of Theria XChange, a first-of-its-kind community-driven marketplace designed exclusively for mobile gamers. Scheduled for launch in early 2026, XChange will allow players to trade in-game items safely and seamlessly.
Unlike traditional marketplaces, Theria XChange is built around trust, transparency, and community engagement. Players will be able to list items, negotiate trades through a secure onsite chat system, and complete exchanges with confidence thanks to built-in trust scores, rating systems, and fraud prevention measures.
The platform builds directly on Charlie's academic research into the social dimensions of in-game asset sales, as well as his experience scaling Theria to serve millions of gamers worldwide. By combining data-driven insights with practical player needs, XChange is set to redefine how mobile gamers connect, collaborate, and exchange value across titles.
Beyond XChange, Charlie envisions continued expansion of Theria's core offerings, with plans to enter new gaming markets and develop additional tools that empower mobile gamers worldwide. His goal is to make Theria the definitive platform for mobile gaming enhancement and commerce, building on the strong foundation established over the past two years.
Through these initiatives, Charlie aims to not only grow Theria as a business but to fundamentally shape how mobile gamers interact with and derive value from their gaming experiences.
